ENROXIL 5% injection
Enroxil 5% (Enroxil 5%) – antibacterial medication in the form of solution for injections, which contains 50 mg/ml of enrofloxacin as active substance and additives - water for injections, potassium hydroxide, butanol.
Appearance – clear yellow solultion.
The preparation is produced in 50 and 100 ml vials of dark glass stoppered by rubber bung under aluminium topping.
Store in dry, dark place far from children under the temperature from +8º to +25ºС. Shelf life – 3 years.
Enrofloxacin belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones of new generation, it inhibits DNA synthesis in microorganisms cell nucleus and prevents, in such a way, development of collateral resistance. The preparation acts bactericidal against gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Corynebacterium spp. и др.) and gram-negative bacteria (E.coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Pasterella spp., Bordetella spp. и др.), and also acts against mycoplasma and clamydia.
Cattle: treatment of animals with gastrointestinal and respiratory tract infections caused by enrofloxacin sensitive micro-organisms (colidiarrhea, coliseptic fever, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, staphylococcusis, mycoplasmosis), and also secondary infections after virus diseases.
Sheep and goats: treatment of animals with gastrointestinal and respiratory tract infections caused by enrofloxacin sensitive micro-organisms (pasteurellosis, colisepticaemia, clostridiosis, gangrenous and acute mastitis, salmonellosis, mycoplasmosis, interdigital dermatitis dermatitis etc.).
Pigs: treatment of animals with gastrointestinal and respiratory tract infections caused by enrofloxacin sensitive micro-organisms (pasteurellosis, leptospirosis, enzootic pneumonia, bacterial bronchopneumonia, colidiarrhea, coliseptic fever, salmonellosis, MMA-syndrome, atrophic rhinitis, mycoplasmosis, clamidiosis
Dogs: treatment of animals with gastrointestinal, respiratory and urogenital tract infections, and also with skin diseases and external auditory passage diseases and wound infections, caused by enrofloxacin sensitive micro-organisms.
The dosage is 2,5-5 mg enrofloxacin per 1 kg body weight:
Intramuscularly, intravenously and subcutaneously:
calves, sheep, goats: 1 ml of preparation per 20 kg body weight once per day. While treating frequent respiratory infections and salmonellosis the dosage is increased twice. Course of treatment – 2-3 days, and in case of salmonellosis – 5 days.
Intramuscularly by dose:
pigs – 1 ml per 20 kg body weight once per day.
While treating frequent respiratory infections and salmonellosis the dosage is increased twice.
Course of treatment – 2-3 days, and in case of salmonellosis – 5 days.
Subcutaneously by dose:
dogs – 1 ml of preparation per 10 kg body weight once per day. Course of treatment – 5-10 days.
It can be administered at one and the same place not more than 10 ml - for calves, 5 – for sheep and goats and 2,5 ml – for lambs, goatlings and piglets.
Hypersensitivity to enrofloxacin.
Do not administer to dogs in the first 12 months of life, and to large breeds in the first 18 months of life, pregnant females and sows, and also to females during lactation.
Do not treat animals with signs of central nervous system diseases.
Do not administer concurrently with tetracyclines, macrolides (erythromycin), chloramphenicol, theophyllin, in order to avoid appearance of side effects. Do not use if persistent strains of pathogenic bacteria, resistant to quinolones, are detected.
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 10 days after last administration of preparation. Milk intake for people is allowed 7 days (cattle) and 5 days (goats) after last administration of preparation. Depending upon conclusion of veterinary medicine, till the indicated term, meat and milk are fed to non-productive animals or utilized.
Personnel, who works with the preparation, should follow main rules of hygiene and safety, accepted for work with veterinary preparations.
